One-year Master's degree
Official degree certificates are issued by the Degree Office at Lund University
A one-year Master's degree can be issued with a major in Economics, Health Economics, International Economics with a Focus on China, and in Finance.
Please note. The master's programme in Economics is a two-year programme and leads to a two-year degree. A student that wants to study for a one-year degree in Economics is advised to apply for free-standing courses.
Degree of Master of Science (60 credits) - Major in Economics
(alt. Degree of Master of Science in Business and Economics)
In order to qualify for a one-year Master's degree in Economics, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
- 60 credits at the advanced level, of which at least 52.5 credits must refer to advanced courses in Economics. The remaining 7.5 credits can be from other subjects (must be approved in advance by the Department of Economics).
The following courses must be included in the degree:
- NEKN21 (Adv. Microeconomic Analysis), 7,5 cr
- NEKN31 (Adv. Econometrics), 7,5 cr
- NEKN41 (Adv. Macroeconomic Analysis), 7,5 cr
- NEKN01 (Master Essay), 15 cr
Degree of Master of Science (60 credits) - Major in Health Economics
(alt. Degree of Master of Science in Business and Economics)
Please note. The degree in Health Economics cannot be awarded after having completed only one year within the master's programme in Economics, or having completed only one year of free-standing courses (this is due to the course structure and requirements for specific courses).
In order to qualify for a one-year Master's degree in Health Economics, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
- 60 credits at the advanced level, of which at least 52.5 credits must refer to advanced courses in Economics. The remaining 7.5 credits can be from other subjects (must be approved in advance by the Department of Economics).
