Title: Higher Education Expansion Reform and Migration

Abstract: Education and location choices are very important but inseparable decisions at an early stage of life. To investigate the interaction between those, I use a Swedish higher education expansion reform to analyze the effect of access to tertiary education on migration and education decisions of young adults. Overall, living closer to a higher education institution seems to increase not only educational attainment but also mobility. However, the effects differ by the distance to the closest higher education institution.
